Santa to accompany firefighters in several local fire districts Three local fire districts have Santa busy making appearances in the north, central and south sections of the county. North Kitsap Fire Rescue, Central Kitsap Fire Rescue and South Kitsap Fire District 7 are leading Santa around local neighborhoods on their fire engines.

Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. Santa will be in South Kitsap at Conifer Park. Saturday from 5 to 9 p.m. he'll be at Manchester on Alaska Avenue. Sunday from 5 to 9 p.m.

Old St. Nick will once again make a special visit to the North area riding atop a Central Kitsap fire engine Dec. 13 to Dec. 17 with the assistance of the Professional Firefighters of Kitsap County and Central Kitsap Fire Rescue. Santa's travels will begin about 5:45 p.m.

Dec. 14 he'll travel west of Trenton Avenue; north of Stone Way; just north of Sylvan Way; east of Olympus Drive; areas include Franklin Avenue, 30th Street, Wyoming Street, Harbel Drive and Forest Drive. Dec. 15 he will visit Petersville Road to Riddell Road, Including surrounding areas around Petersville. Dec.

16 he will travel to Illahee Drive to Shore Cliff, including the surrounding Fir Drive area and NE Third Street North to University Point, including surrounding areas. His last visit will be Dec. 17 when he will travel to the areas of Illahee to Oceanview; Oceanview to Sunset, including surrounding areas; Sunset to Aegean and John Carlson Road, including surrounding areas; and NE 72nd to McWilliams, including surrounding areas. Ordway students run to fight cancer Students from Ordway Elementary ran in the recent 2004 Seattle Kids Marathon to help raise money and awareness for children who are fighting cancer and their families. E-MAIL: Grants awarded to Kitsap program Rebuilding Together of Kitsap County recently was awarded two grants. A $2,500 grant from Countrywide Home Loans will supplement the Emergency Year Round Service Fund and the annual Rebuilding Day Blitz. The Silverdale Rotary Duck Buck Fund awarded Rebuilding Together a $1,000 grant.

Rebuilding Together is a nonprofit organization dedicated to repairing owner-occupied, low-income housing, particularly for the elderly and people living with physical disabilities. Since 1990, Rebuilding Together of Kitsap County has completed work on 98 homes in the county and four nonprofit facilities including the YWCA Alive Shelter. Mason County employee food drive successful Mason County employees contributed 2,1.20 pounds of food and $135; which will be distributed equally to all four food banks in Mason County. Kelly Frazier, Trish Woolett and Ben Ramsfield organized the food 35 Christmas Ship makes local stop The Olympic High School Vocal Jazz Ensemble will perform on the Argosy Christmas Ship on Friday. The ship is lighted from stem to stern and will stop at the Manchester Dock from 8 to 8:20 p.m.

for a ship-to-shore concert by the jazz ensemble. The Manchester Community Association will sponsor a bonfire on the beach at the Manchester City Park. The Christmas Ship cruises nightly through Dec. 23 from Pier 55 in Seattle. It stops at more than 45 waterfront communities along with a parade of boats, forming what is purported to be the largest holiday flotilla in the world.
