I provide a survey information about the Czech philosophy after 1989. I describe briefly the historical situation and the institutional background, as well as the main topics of discourse and groups of cooperation. Then, I describe briefly the main figures of the post-1989 Czech philosophy, dividing them into five groups, namely the people of continuity (who were professionals in the 1970's and 1980's and remained in the profession after 1989), the people of discontinuity (the victims of the purges around 1970 who returned to the profession after 1989), the underground people (who were educated mainly in the underground philosophy circles), the people of exile, and the young blood. Finally, I introduce figures who do not belong to philosophy professionally but whose work is of philosophical relevance.

espanolEl objetivo de este trabajo es clarificar el concepto filosofico del movimiento en Patocka's, especialmente en el contexto de la historia. La fenomenologia del movimiento de Patocka's se basa en el cambio fundamental en la vida de una persona orientada a la verdad, la libertad y la responsabilidad. Czech philosopher, Jan Patočka is increasingly considered to be one of the most important phenomenologists of the 20 th century. As with Merleau-Ponty, Patočka’s intellectual path is shaped by an enduring critical engagement with Husserl and Heidegger’s respective versions of phenomenology. The present paper takes up Patočka’s later thought, which is characterized by the interplay of three interrelated but incomplete trends: the turn towards an asubjective phenomenology, the elaboration of the “three movements of human existence”, and a phenomenological philosophy of history. In turn, these emerge from his dissatisfaction with his earlier elaborations of the “natural world”, his unfinished attempt to elucidate a negative Platonism, and his enduring interest in the world horizon. The aim of the paper is twofold: first, to enrich the factual historical record of the phenomenological movement in the second half of the 20th century in a Central European context by presenting two representatives of this movement who are now relatively unknown in the Czechoslovak philosophical milieu (Marie Bayerová and Josef Cibulka). The genealogy of this stream of phenomenology has been shaped by the difficult conditions under which philosophy was conducted. The second aim is to use the genealogy to describe the type of phenomenology that developed in this milieu. The article considers minor figures in the phenomenological movement, by exploring philosophy, both “in margine” and from the centre. It also consider the concept of “state of emergency”. Taking these pointers of philosophical analysis (elaborated by Jan Patočka and Milan Šimečka in their time) we reveal the anthropological conditions of philosophizing and the type of phenomenology.Keywords:margins; genealogy of phenomenology; historicity; Czechoslovakia; second half of 20th century; phenomenology; philosophical anthropology
