For Malaysians planning to fly in or tune in to watch Singapore’s upcoming National Day Parade (NDP) 2024, here are some of the best spots to catch the fireworks. From sky-high restaurants and rooftop bars to open fields, these locations offer some of the best views.
The main fireworks display is expected to take place over Marina Bay from 7.30pm on 9 August. On 10 August, the party moves to the country’s heartlands with fireworks set to go off in Bishan, Punggol, Yishun, Paya Lebar, and Buona Vista.
Where to watch the NDP 2024 fireworks in Marina Bay
The best spots to view the National Day Parade fireworks 2024 for free are around The Promontory @ Marina Bay. Vantages include:
- Collyer Quay
- Esplanade
- Helix Bridge
- Merlion Park
- Open-air area in front of The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands
- The Lawn @ Marina Bay
These areas will be crowded during the NDP previews (27 July and 3 August) and the actual day itself (9 August), so go early. Alternatively, head to Marina Barrage or Bay East Garden. They are further from the action but offer more room to watch the fireworks.
Fireworks at NDP Heartland Celebrations
Those who prefer to party closer to home can do so at the NDP Heartland Celebrations. Happening on 10 August 2024 from 4pm to 9pm, the NDP 2024 fireworks will cap off a day of carnival games, family-friendly activities, live performances, and more. The event is taking place at five locations:
- Open field opposite Bishan Circle Line MRT Station (Exit D)
- Punggol open field beside Waterway Point
- Open field beside FutsalArena @ Yishun
- Open field next to Paya Lebar Quarter 1
- Open field next to Buona Vista MRT Station

Rooftop bars to catch the National Day fireworks
For a guaranteed view of the National Day 2024 fireworks, head to these rooftop bars and restaurants. From the 70th floor, the appropriately named Skai is the highest on this list, and the restaurant and bar is marking the festivities with a four-course dinner. Next is Ce La Vi and Lavo, both teetering on separate ends of Marina Bay Sands‘s iconic rooftop. The former has an all-day family-friendly affair, while Lavo serves twists on chilli crab and cereal prawns. Skypark Observation Deck also has the ticketed the National Day in the Sky event (S$88), which offers for a live telecast of the parade and front-row seats to the National Day 2024 fireworks (get tickets here).
There is also Kaarla. The establishment is selling entry tickets to its sky garden on the 51st floor and is serving free-flow alcohol and a five-course Australian-Japanese dinner. At Mr. Stork, enjoy the NDP 2024 fireworks from one of the rooftop bar’s teepees. On National Day, the Italian restaurant at Mandarin Oriental has a set menu for up to four people with appetisers like burrata caprese, fritto misto (fried calamari, prawns, and sea bass in marinara sauce), and assorted cold cuts. At the world’s highest urban microbrewery, Level33 has a free-flow deal on 9 August that encompasses nine savoury dishes and two desserts, all with a local bent. Dine on confit egg yolk toast, radish cake, oyster omelette chawanmushi, beer battered cereal prawns, and ondeh-ondeh ice cream, which are served from live stations around the restaurant. Singapore flavours meet Mexican cuisine at Super Loco Customs House’s National Day 2024 celebrations. Singapore’s newest sky-high destination opens right in time for the country’s birthday. It’s only apt to try Sushisamba’s two Singapore-exclusive creations: the Samba chilli crab roll (S$38++) with crispy soft-shell crab, chilli crab sauce, and yuzu mayo. The other is the Samba Singapore roll (S$38++) filled with Maine lobster, mango, and avocado. The maki roll twist is also drizzled with aji honey truffle and wrapped in soy paper.
